POISON frontman and "Rock of Love Bus" star Bret Michaels recently answered a number of questions that were submitted by readers of Blender magazine. A couple of excerpts follow below.

Q: When are POISON coming out with a new album of original material?

Bret Michaels On our last studio album [2007's "Poison'd!"], we had Don Was, one of the greatest producers ever, and I was really upset that we were using him for a covers album. I gave 150 percent, but I was like, "Guys, we fuckin' write music. Isn't that what we got into this for in the first place for?" I would like to do a new album with POISON ? but we'd have to do new material. I live to write and produce new stuff. I will never do another cover song with POISON.

Q: Nikki Sixx, Axl Rose and DEF LEPPARD's Joe Elliott have all slammed POISON. Ever bump into any of these guys since then?

Bret Michaels: I used to ride Harleys with Nikki, and around '88 they were gonna kick Vince [Neil] out of the band and were interested in me singing for them. I never knew Nikki disliked me until I read about it, and now when I see him, he's like, "What's up, bro?" I've never actually read what Axl said. I remember talking with him about life by the vending machine in the studio when he was doing "Use Your Illusion", I think. I know Joe said something about us and some other bands not being as real. We became the biggest hair band in the world, and I think we became a punching bag when other bands' careers started to dip. But I like all those bands' music. This summer, POISON are going to tour with DEF LEPPARD, something I've been trying to make happen for years.
