"For every pet you adopt from a pet store, another three in a shelter will die," says POISON drummer Rikki Rockett.
Rockett joined Last Chance For Animals' Chris DeRose at this weekend's gathering, Puppy Mill Awareness Day, to bring attention to this animal problem.
The event took place on Saturday, September 18, from 11 AM to 3 PM at the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles. Cesar Millan of The Dog Whisperer fame was one of the speakers, and also Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Chris DeRose and Rikki Rockett took the podium at noon to speak about the "Puppy Mill & Adopt, Don't Shop" campaign.
